Orlando's Food Trucks - Firestone Food Truck Pod Review

I must say out of the three food truck meet ups I went to this week, this was my favorite. Firestones Food pod had music, movies, a bar and of course Food trucks but it wasn’t just those elements that made it my fav. it was because the atmosphere was friendly, inviting and intimate. You weren’t overwhelmed by the gross amount of people, you weren’t standing in line for hours and you had a chance to get to know those who run/work the truck and everyone had a delicious presence, that makes you want to support their truck because you can see they are dedicated to their craft, humble and love feed back!

I had a chance to speak to the two young men that helped organized the event and you can tell they are all in for the trucks, they want to make the event better and better each time....a mini-community festival every Wednesday where everyone benefits but everyone also feels part of the community and have a great time!

Here are some pictures of the trucks that were there, there were only 5 due to the fact The Yum Yum truck broke down (don’t worry they got it fix and are doing great), this Wednesday their will be 6 trucks.

I didn't get a chance to get the name of the bar lady but she is delightful, definitely go say Hi!

Next week Firestone live will be doing it up even bigger on Wednesday, May 11 · 6:00pm - 10:00pm with live music from The Jonnie Morgan Band.

Hope to see you There!

Orlando's Food Trucks - Plaza Live Food Truck Heaven - Cultured and Delicious

This Tuesday Night the family and I attended The Plaza live Food Truck Heaven it was zesty, cultured and delicious. Compared to The Daily City Bazaar it was much smaller and had few trucks but it was still mighty in taste and flavor.

Walking in you were greeted by BigBruno Bites, I must saying they were positioned perfectly because the aroma from of the cheese steaks, dogs and fried oreos made you instantly hungry. You almost just wanted to stop there.....

Circling the front of the theater their were other vendors there like Pleasant Earth Soap Co and Demeters Harvest who sell salsa, hummus and bean dip. They were a nice add but not sure how much business they got, since most people were at the trucks.

Inside they had a bar and a splendid musician on stage named Nik Silva. His sound was smooth and perfect for the atmosphere.

Jazzydog certainly was in a bad position, they were too close to the building almost lost in the sea trucks, I didn’t notice them till the very end and the only reason I walked over there is because there food sign said Pepsi and I was looking for something to drink then I realized this was another Food vendor (oh..and they didnt even have pepsi, just the sign). They did however have a line and were serving up plump, juicy Hot dogs.

Mr. Softee was there, I thought I took a picture but my Camera I guess was sleep..hehe. My daughter did get an Softee with Sprinkles and it was of course delicioosooo....her words ;)

Next was The Taco lady, she had a huge line, second longest line of all the trucks it seems, Great prices and she had tacos flying off the truck left and right.

Then was Casa de Chef Chef. What is unique about this truck is that it has two menus, one for breakfast foods and the other for lunch/dinner foods. I think that is a great touch and covers more palates.

Juancho’s Grill has a beautiful, simple truck – big bright red and the menu is huge and painted on the front which is great for people like me who direly need glasses...shhh. The one thing I wish this truck would do is have an explanation of what some of their food items are and what they have on them.

Arepas de Casa line was extremely long, longest of all the trucks and after tasting their Arepas, I can see why!

The last truck....Pincho"Mania"

The Plaza Live Food Truck Heaven was a great addition to this weeks events, culturally diverse, great music and a live atmosphere. It gave you a peak into the different trucks in Orlando, See you Next Time.

The Food Truck Bazaar was a Hit!!

The Daily City pulled it off again with another delicious Food Truck Bazaar. A sea of people came out to taste and savor the flavors of some of the most heavenly food trucks in Orlando. The Bazaar was held at the Fashion Square Mall in the Dillards parking lot and I must say the destination they choose worked flawlessly, there was ample space to handle the crowd and lines...well except for the line coming from Melissa's Chicken and Waffles which stole the show!

When you walked into the Bazaar you were greeted by The Daily City Team who handed out flyers to help you navigate. When we arrived Mark Baratelli (Food Truck Bazaar founder/producer) was getting interviewed by Tom and Dan from The Mediocre Time Podcast and (104.1 Monsters in the Morning better know as Daniel and Drunky the bear.)

Kudos to however thought having the "Start your own business" aka food truck for those that are inspiring to be part of the bazaar one day.  This was surprising sprinkle....a great add.

The Yum Yum truck famous for nothing else but Yummy Cupcakes.

The Traveling Gourmet was a great addition to the bazaar....

Country Chuck Wagon....

This was the one truck that I really, really should of waited for, I seen people coming out of line with delicious time

The Tree House Truck....

Melissa's Chicken and Waffles was the one truck that seemed to dominate all night, their line was super long and some people said they waited almost 3 hours however every single person I spoke to said it was WELL, WELL worth the wait and they would do it again.

Pupusas Salvadorenas......

CK Jerk Shack Gourmet Island BBQ was my favorite of the night but maybe that is because I love the Island flavors & BBQ. CK infused these flavors together....I was in Heaven!

The smell coming from CK Jerk Shack was overwhelming but in a good way, I could sit there all day and watch him BBQ.

Sunset Ice who had 12 flavors of Italian Ices and they were scrumptious...defiantly my daughters favorite.

The Korean BBQ Taco Box, one of Orlando's well known...

Firehouse BBQ

Wing Commander

Winter Park Fish Co. Sold out of some of its items quick but they had plenty Fish Tacos and they were Great.

The Crooked Spoon who were serving up scumptious Dogs...many food truck lovers missed their baked Mac-n-Chz but they said at the next bazaar expect it. I already have my money tucked away for that ;)

Last but far from least the Red Eye BBQ truck...their line never seemed to end but you didn't have to wait long and the smell...yummy. mini car was so cute!

This picture is totally miscellaneous but I Loved these bikes positions..... seamlessly.

This being my First Food Truck Bazaar (won't be my last) I can say I enjoyed every part of it, the food was marvelous and everyone in the crowd had a smile and food on their face. The only think I could think of to improve the next one would be to have some restrooms and maybe some tables and chairs.

Hope to see you next time!
